Solar panels

What your solar panel installation in Mallorca includes

Solar panels in Mallorca cost between €6,500 and €8,000 in 2026 for a house with 5 kWp and no battery, and between €9,000 and €11,500 with a 10 kWh battery, turnkey and including legalisation, according to prices published by installers on the island. For private individuals there is no regional grant for the panels until FOTOPAR 2027, the Balearic solar grant scheme for households, but there are IRPF (Spanish income tax) deductions until 31/12/2026 if you pay tax in Spain as a resident.

Our team of electricians and installers in Palma takes care of everything, from the study based on your bill until the surplus compensation shows up on your electricity bill. We design the system for your real consumption, not to fill the roof.

  • Study of a year's bills and a calculation of your annual saving
  • Output matched to your consumption, not to the roof area
  • Comunicación previa (prior notice) to the council where needed
  • Panels, inverter and, if you want, a battery with backup
  • Boletín (CIE, the electrical certificate), self-consumption registration and surplus set-up
  • Legalisation date in writing in your contract
  • App showing what your panels produce and what you use
  • Optional: energy certificate before and after

What we guarantee

What we guarantee with your solar panels

The most common complaints in Mallorca are systems that are never legalised, companies that disappear and promised grants that never arrive. This is how we work so it doesn't happen to you.

  • Legalisation with a date

We file the boletín and the self-consumption registration within two weeks of installation, with the date in your contract, and let you know when the compensation shows up on your bill.

  • Sized to your consumption

We work from your bills. Surplus power earns only a few cents, so a system bigger than your consumption takes longer to pay for itself.

  • Backup for power cuts, if you want it

Without a battery and backup, the panels shut down when the grid goes down. With a hybrid inverter, a battery and a backup circuit, the essentials keep running.

  • Grants without empty promises

We tell you which grants and tax deductions you are entitled to today, with the date and source. We never promise you a grant that depends on the Govern (the Balearic government).

  • A team that stays with you

After installation, you call us: inspections, cleaning and faults are handled by our team in Palma. You have a 5-year guarantee on the installation, on top of the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment.

  • You pay as the work progresses

Nothing before you sign. When work starts you pay 10% at most, and the rest stage by stage, once each stage is finished and checked with us.

Good to know

Grants and tax deductions for solar panels in Mallorca (October 2026)

There is currently no regional grant for the panels on a private home. If you pay tax in Spain as a resident, until 31/12/2026 you have two IRPF deductions, which cannot be combined for the same installation, and if you live in the Balearics, a grant for the battery.

Self-consumption deduction: 10%

You deduct 10% of what you pay for the installation in 2026 (20% if it is installed in your residential building), with a maximum base of €5,000 a year: up to €500 at 10% and up to €1,000 at 20%. It applies to any property you own, including a second home, unless the system is used for a business activity. It must be finished in 2026, with a boletín (CIE), and paid by card or bank transfer, never in cash.

Efficiency deduction: up to 40%

If the energy certificate issued afterwards shows 30% less non-renewable primary energy or an A or B rating, you deduct 40% on your main residence or on a property you let out as a home, with a maximum base of €7,500: up to €3,000. For a second home, only the 10% deduction applies. You need a certificate before and after, the second one before 1/1/2027. Whether the panels are enough depends on each house: we work it out beforehand.

Battery: 45% from the Factor de Insularidad

If you are resident in the Balearics, the Balearic government covers 45% of the eligible battery cost through this grant scheme, even though panels are not subsidised for any individual, self-employed or not. Applications until 28/02/2027, first come, first served. You pay first and receive the money after submitting proof of the work, and the subsidised amount does not count towards the deduction.

FOTOPAR 2027: January to April

The next grant for solar panels for private individuals resident in the Balearics: €600 per kWp up to 5 kWp and €420 per kWh of battery. Applications from 26/01 to 30/04/2027, and only what you install after applying counts. In 2026 there were more applications than money.

Updated: October 2026. All grants are listed under grants in the Balearic Islands.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about solar panels in Mallorca

Can't find your question? Message us on WhatsApp and we will answer in Spanish, German or English.

How much does it cost to install solar panels on a house in Mallorca?
According to prices published in 2026 by installers on the island, a 3 kWp system costs between €5,000 and €6,500, a 5 kWp system between €6,500 and €8,000, and a 5 kWp system with a 10 kWh battery between €9,000 and €11,500, turnkey and including legalisation. We give you your fixed price, with the make and model of every component, after the visit.
Are solar panels worth it in Mallorca, and how many years do they take to pay for themselves?
In most houses, yes, if the system is properly sized. Installers' guides for 2026 put the saving at €1,000 to €1,200 a year with 5 kWp and payback at 6 to 8 years without grants. What matters most is how much electricity you use during the day: air conditioning and a pool help. From your bill, we give you your own figure before you sign.
How many solar panels do I need for my house?
It depends on your consumption, not on the size of the house. From your bills we see how much electricity you use and at what times, and we work out the output you will actually use. Surplus power is credited at between €0 and €0.07 per kWh depending on the supplier (Selectra, October 2026), so oversizing lengthens the payback. If you are thinking of switching to a heat pump in Mallorca, we work it all out together.
Do solar panels work during a power cut?
A normal grid-connected system, no: for safety, the inverter disconnects when the grid goes down, even if the sun is shining. That is what happened in the power cut of April 2025. To have electricity during a cut you need a hybrid inverter with a battery and a backup circuit for the essentials, such as the fridge, lights, router or water pump. We tell you what it can cover in your house.
Solar panels with or without a battery?
A battery pays off if you use a lot of electricity at night or want backup during power cuts. If you are resident in the Balearics, the Factor de Insularidad, a Balearic government grant scheme, covers 45% of its cost, with applications until 28/02/2027, first come, first served. If almost all your consumption is during the day, you can start without a battery and have the inverter ready to add one later.
Are there grants for solar panels in Mallorca in 2026?
For a private home, not at the moment: the Factor de Insularidad does not subsidise panels for any individual, self-employed or not, and FOTOPAR 2026, the Balearic solar grant scheme for households, closed on 30 April. FOTOPAR 2027 is open from 26 January to 30 April 2027 for people resident in the Balearics. If you pay tax in Spain as a resident, until 31/12/2026 you have the 10% IRPF (Spanish income tax) deduction or, on your main residence or a property you let out as a home, the 40% one; if you live in the Balearics, also the 45% grant for the battery.
What happens to surplus power? How much am I paid?
Under the simplified compensation scheme, the electricity you don't use is deducted from your bill: between €0 and €0.07 per kWh depending on the supplier, most around €0.06 (Selectra, October 2026). You are not paid in cash, and the discount never exceeds what you pay for energy from the grid that month. For it to start, the system has to be legalised: we take care of that.
Can I put solar panels on a rural finca, off the grid or in a community of owners?
Yes. On rural land (suelo rústico), self-consumption panels on legal buildings do not need a declaration of general interest (Balearic Ley 10/2019, art. 48). If your finca has no grid connection, we design an off-grid system with batteries for your consumption. On urban land, if they don't affect the structure, a comunicación previa (prior notice) to the council is enough (art. 54). In a block, the roof is common property and you need the agreement of the community, which can apply for the Factor de Insularidad for shared panels.
