Before installing air conditioning in Palma de Mallorca
Four points that avoid problems with the community, the bill and grants.
The façade belongs to the community
In a block, the façade is a common element. The Ley de Propiedad Horizontal (the Spanish law on owners' communities) does not allow its external appearance to be altered without the community, which could ask you to remove the unit. We check this with you before installing.
No regional grant for air-to-air units
The Factor de Insularidad 2026‑2027, a Balearic government grant scheme, excludes air-to-air units. If you are looking for a grant, the option is a heat pump in Mallorca, with 70% of the eligible cost covered if you are resident in the Balearics.
The right output
A unit that is too small can't cope and one that is too big uses more than it should. We calculate each room with its orientation, insulation and windows, especially in penthouses and houses with rooms right under the roof.
Less heat, fewer hours of air conditioning
Awnings, shutters and an insulated roof cut the hours the air conditioning runs. If you are renovating, we look at it together with façade renovation and insulation.
